The last time 2024 toyota tundra changed the Tundra was in 2022, so the current model of this full-size pickup truck is likely to stay the same until 2024. After all, the automaker has a lot on its plate with the release of the totally redesigned 2024 Tacoma midsize truck. The Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds and take 1,940 pounds of cargo, depending on how it is set up.
These numbers aren’t as good as those of its main competitors, especially the Ford F-150, which is our top pick in this class. Still, the Tundra’s bold design and general good performance make it easy to suggest. For more information, be sure to read our full Expert Rating of the Tundra.
2024 toyota tundra Performance
How do you drive the 2024 toyota tundra? Even though Tundra fans might be sad about the loss of the loud 5.7-liter V8, the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is more than a good option. Even at low rpm, there is a lot of torque available, and the 10-speed automatic transmission changes gears quickly and easily.
In our tests, it took a 4WD Tundra 6.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, which is pretty fast. Because of this speed, it’s easy to merge with traffic and pass on the open highway without thinking twice.
Braking is similarly strong. From 60 miles per hour, the Tundra stopped in 131 feet, which is a bit better than normal. Our test truck had the more rugged tires from the TRD Off-Road package. The truck is easy to drive on tight rural roads because the steering is light and accurate. Sometimes it feels like the smaller Tacoma.
Our test truck’s TRD Off-Road package came with a locking rear differential and more off-road driving modes, but it didn’t seem to improve the truck’s ability to go off-road by much. This is a big truck with a long length. Because of this, the undercarriage can easily get stuck on things that look easy. If you want to go off-roading in the Tundra, you should probably get the TRD Pro.
Comfort
How easy is it to live in the 2024 toyota tundra? This Tundra is much better than the one that came before it. Seat comfort and noise levels have been greatly improved, and the Tundra is now a pleasant truck for both front and back seat people to ride in on long trips. Even though the V6 engine isn’t as loud as the V8, it sounds just right for a full-size truck when it’s running at full speed.
The Ram 1500 still has the best ride quality in its class, but the Tundra is pretty stable and doesn’t shake much on most roads. The Tundra’s simple climate control system lets you set it and forget it. We like the big buttons and knobs, even though some of the labels can be hard to read in bright sunlight. 2024 toyota tundra Interior
How does the inside look? Even though the optional 14-inch touchscreen is eye-catching, the 2024 toyota tundra hd,s simple layout and general ease of use make a bigger impression. Gauges and graphics are easy to read at a look, and the full-size Tundra is much less scary to drive because the driver sits in a commanding position. Like all full-size trucks, the Tundra has enough room for all passengers, especially in the CrewMax version.
The 2024 toyota tundra feels very open and airy when it has the optional panoramic sunroof and the unique full-width power back window. Even though the Tundra has a big hood, it is usually easy to see in front of it. But on two-lane roads, the truck’s thick window pillars can block your view. We suggest getting the Tundra’s surround-view camera system because it makes it much easier to move the truck in small spaces.
Technology
How are the gadgets? The 14-inch tablet that can be added to the Tundra is a standout feature. It has clear graphics, and the on-screen settings are simple to use. In fact, we’d bet that some smartphone users might even like the native setup better than Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which come standard for most features. Our test truck had the upgraded JBL sound system, but the basic system was more than good enough for us.
Most of the Tundra’s advanced driver aids are stock, and they work well most of the time. During our tests, we didn’t have any false reports. The only bad thing was that the lane keeping device wasn’t very good at keeping this big truck in the middle of the lanes. Here is the best Electric Toyota Tacoma you can check now.
Towing and Putting Away
How do you tow and store it? The new Tundra has strong features. When properly loaded, our test truck’s standard V6 engine and 4WD CrewMax configuration let it tow 11,120 pounds. The Tundra’s highest towing and hauling capacities aren’t the best in its class, but they’re good enough for most truck owners’ needs. The standard is a strengthened composite bed.
With the CrewMax four-door’s extra room, you can store a lot of things in the back that you don’t want to put in the bed. There is a lot of space under the seats in the back, and the front riders can also store small items there. But the Tundra’s storage isn’t as well organized as that of its domestic rivals, and its different bins could get a bit messy quickly.
Fuel Economy
How well does it use gas? Most people who buy full-size trucks don’t care much about how much gas they use, but those who are interested in the Tundra might want to lower their standards. The EPA says that the 4WD Tundra gets 19 mpg on average, which is about the same as its competitors.
On our real-world test route, however, our test truck only got 15.2 mpg, which was not very good. And the Tundra only got 16.9 mpg on a weekend fishing trip that was mostly on the open highway. That’s worse than what we’ve seen with other full-size trucks we’ve tested.
Value 7.5/10
Is it a good deal to buy the Tundra? The inside is made to a very good level of quality. All of the trim pieces fit together perfectly, and there aren’t any big gaps between them. Even though our test Tundra Limited didn’t have nice touches like wood and metal like other midlevel full-size trucks, it didn’t feel cheap or utilitarian at all.
The warranties are about average for the class, covering the whole car for three years or 36,000 miles and the engine for five years or 60,000 miles. But the Tundra’s free maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles is a little bit better.
Wildcard
The 2024 toyota tundra can’t say it’s the best in its class when it comes to towing, hauling, or ride comfort, but there’s nothing wrong with being good at what it does and being comfortable. The 14-inch touchscreen and full-width power rear window that can be added make it a unique vehicle to drive. Here is the best 2024 Toyota Tacoma you can check now.

As of this writing, Toyota hasn’t made any public announcements about the 2024 toyota tundra hybrid. If anything changes, we’ll change our suggestion, but based on the Tundra from last year, we recommend the Limited trim level.
It comes with a long list of standard features that can make life with the Tundra more enjoyable. It can be bought with either type of cab. It’s also the cheapest way to get the Tundra’s i-Force Max hybrid engine, which is an option.
