EV Motor, Performance, and Power
The Ioniq 5 forum only has an electric drivetrain, which comes in different levels of power. When paired with a single electric motor in the back, the standard-range battery makes 168 horsepower.
With the longer-range battery, the rear-drive configuration makes 225 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which Hyundai says will get the Ioniq 5 from 0 to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds.
The all-wheel-drive version is much faster and has more power, with 320 horsepower and a big 446 pound-feet. At our test track, it went from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

Range, Charging, and Life of the Battery
The Ioniq 5 forum is said to have a range of 220 miles with the usual 58.0-kWh battery pack. With two motors, the bigger 77.4-kWh pack can go 266 miles, and with just one motor, it can go 303 miles. In our real-world range test at 75 mph, the dual-motor car went 210 miles on a full charge.
When it comes to charging, Hyundai says that when the bigger battery is put into a DC fast charger, it can go from 10 to 80% full in about 18 minutes. Also, they said that it can add 68 miles in about 5 minutes.

The combined EPA figure for the Ioniq 5 with the long-range battery and rear-wheel drive is 114 MPGe. If you add all-wheel drive, that number goes down to 101 MPGe, which is up from 98 MPGe last year.

Cargo, Interior, and Comfort
Even though the Ioniq 5’s cabin isn’t as artsy as the one shown in the Hyundai 45 Concept, it has a digital panel and a lot of eco-friendly materials. One of the crazy features is a head-up display with augmented reality that can show driving directions on the windscreen.
The small crossover also makes use of the fact that it is all-electric by having a fully flat floor so that it can fit as many people and things as possible. People can also relax while the Ioniq is charging because the front seats tilt back and have footrests.

Hyundai says that the Ioniq subbrand is all about connected life, and the Ioniq 5 forum has a lot of new ways to connect and have fun. A 12.0-inch tablet and a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster share a panel on the dash, but the touchscreen is the entertainment hub.
